Linguistics can explain the science of the universe and more!
Linguistics can explain the science of the universe and more!
If everything can be explained via words, then we can utilize this to our advantage and become more literate - hence the quote: "the limits of my language means the limits of my world."
This is why the republican party wants mediocrely-educated people, so that they are just enough to use common sense, but still too dumb to become more aware
Learning how to learn via words
Self-awareness
Teaching attitude, teaching opinions
Some questions I will be answering in this post are:
- What are "words?"
- What do definitions represent?
- Why do we think in terms of words?
- What is so impressive about this language in the process of considering and identifying words?
- What is thinking?
- Measuring? Adjectives? Feelings? Expression of feelings?
- How can words used to explain what words are?
- What considerations are made to pursue a particular goal?
What are words?
Words are definitions - literally - that are used to represent that information is being considered to conclude identifying a particular object, either theoretically or physically.
How this disproves free will:
- When you are identifying words, you are identifying the definition of those words, which have an objective measurement depending on their definition.
- Words by themselves area definition with considered and concluded criteria. For example, when defining stormy - it considers the criteria for specifying what type of weather one is based on the level of rainfall, snowfall, etc. These are the mental factors considered. Same thing goes for virtually every other word. It is specifying based on a set of considered criteria.
- Another more apartment example is thinking of the definition a criteria for a word and think of examples of said word. For example, the criteria for stormy would only encompass things like a rainstorm or a hailstorm or a snowstorm, it will objectively not include things like a hot summer day.
- If we are describing feelings of the person expressing, however, that criteria is different.
- This is where most are often confused. If someone calls them stupid it is not because they fit the criteria of stupid, but rather because the person feels mad, as such words are never expressed in times of calmness unless used sarcastically. So, in reality "you're stupid" objectively translates to "I'm mad at you and feel mad at you and want to call you stupid to express verbatim my feelings about you."
- This proves that without criteria, limits, definition, boundaries all is pointless
How studying linguistics can help you learn how to learn:
- Knowing what to look for - variables
- Understanding the facts about the way you feel
- Prevent the developing of an opinion on another person's opinion
- Learning how to formulate, set and pursue goals
