Arguments Against Free Will
Arguments Against Free Will (new and old)
- Claiming free will exists is like claiming magic exist - basically something without explanation other than mere choice, which does not explain the scientific reasoning why
- Magic tricks are seen as magic because the audience does not know how, which is why it's called magic from the audiences' perspective, but the magician knows the "magic" aka "trick sequence" behind it therefore it is not as magical.
- Claiming free will exists is indirectly claiming and a whole area of science called neurosciences is bogus
- As a matter of fact, everything is neuroscience. Our behaviors can be explained and is therefore not magic. Anyone who say's it's magic is not curious about why we operate the way we operate and has something wrong with their innate sense of curiosity. We are only as good as our enviornment.
- Environment is a form of non-verbal communication
- Determinism gives us more of a reason to control the environment and add regulations and hold people more morally responsible, not against it
- Saying free will is like saying it is not my responsibility to predict and calculate your behavior
- Just because you're too lazy to calculate someone's next moves because you have different priorities, does not automatically make it free will given your lack of understanding or careness (curiosity) to understand
- Most of (everyday) life is just symbolism and people tend to overlook that
- Mental thoughts have a cause (see thinking is an action blog post)
- Certain colors can invoke certain brain reactions, this is proof we can optimize brain experience in absence of morality
- For example, many fast-food logos are in red and yellow because red stimulates hunger and yellow is a strong contrasting color for red.
- Studies coming out showing how mere colors can affect our subconscious decisions
- This is why arcades tend to be lo-fi colors whereas grocery stores tend to have brighter colors
- We all have physical limits, including mental limits, which are arguably more challenging to identify
- Claiming free will is like claiming it's impossible for pinpoint reasons for one to optimize sleep
- There are many things that we don't realize are affecting your everyday life, proving free will as unreal. For example, air quality is one of them - most people don't even care to think twice about air quality unless we are in a pandemic.
- We are human beings that are animals relying on physical resources
- Similarly to how Einstein's brain literally enabled him to make those calculations
- the more i study the brain the less i believe in free will
- Neuroscience is the study of motivation
- Given out limited understand of ourselves, it is reasonably to conclude that free will is merely an illusion
- People who claim free will are inevitably claiming that depression isn't real, even though it's proven to be that the feelings we experience are real, called chemical balances, and that depression is a chemical imbalance.
- Energy is contagious, if you can't comprehend this, your brain isn't as evolved, quite literally.
- Distinguish between mental limits and physical limits
- Body awareness
- Morality
- To identify a word is to identify the limits of that word
- subconscious involuntary thinking is a real thing, denying it is only denying reality or you are not a human being capable of higher order thinking skills.
- Free will people tend to think that depression can be solved by simply "stop being sad" and that there is no such thing as an abusive situation since a person can simply "walk away" at any time, not recognizing the emotional trauma bond.
- By definition free will believers don't believe in psychology, sociology or neuroscience.
- Resiliency and "self-control" is a skill, sure. But the state of what we call self-control is merely the brain being ignorant and dogmatic as to why they behave a certain way, it is a thought process in response to being scared or personally affected - it has a psychological explanation behind it.
- That being said, there are defined limits of resistance as outlined by the limits of the brain. We all do not have the brain of Einstein, who as proven to be smarter because of his above average brain.
- If you believe in free will then, in theory, everyone does not have any limits on what they can resist, if that is the case, when why do people fail at different points? This proves that people have a tolerance and a breaking point.
- Believing in free will is only able to believed in because it is enabled by the brain, thereby disproving free will since the brain has limits on consciousness.
- Acknowledge that there are limits to desires
- Example: if it impossible for one to desire one thing and desire another given a period of 5 seconds without external sources. For example, if it impossible for someone who is extremely happy on vacation to suddenly become disgruntled for any reason, it just does not happen simply because of lack of external factors.
- body makes millions of decision on a daily basis
- Everyday we learning just how our bodies control our brain on a daily basis
- For example, cell phones reduce sperm count production which control the sex drivee factor of our brain. As more research is uncovered, we can all become conscious of ourselves by comprehending what our bodies do on a minute level.
- moreover, who would have thought carrying a cell phone in our pocket would impact our sex life? virtually no one! proving that there can be correlations between things we may not think are relevant to each other proving that everything we do in life affects everything!
- Poverty negatively impacts structural wiring in children’s brains, study indicates : https://medicine.wustl.edu/news/poverty-negatively-impacts-structural-wiring-in-childrens-brains-study-indicates/
- Poverty is a mental illness, meaning, we should look at these people not just as general human beings, but as specifically what kind of human beings, are they subhuman (poor people, actually) or superhuman (rich people, generally)
- Here is another study on how poverty affects the brain: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5765853/#:~:text=One%20study%20examined%20a%20cross,to%204%25%20below%20developmental%20norms.
- Therefore, poverty is immoral as it causes immoral behavior such as causes of murder.
- Similar to how a bull will go berserk and become immoral when in the presence of the color red, same thing can be applied to human beings behavior. Human behavior may not make sense, but making sense is just a predisposed notion in your head based on intuition, and it's clear that intuition isn't 100 percent right, same thing with common sense.
- Limits of consciousness = limits of free will
- Proving that is is our enviornment (experiences that we experience, events that we experience that control us) If I were to come at you with a knife, you would be panicked and run, that is not because you chose to but because of the presence of the amygdala in your brain - it is what gives your body the ability to process these events. Remove the amygdala , you remove your ability to process these events. Effectively removing the ability to comprehend fear, rendering spanking useless.
- This proves that thoughts are only based on our comprehending ability, and some people have a higher comprehending ability than others - see: Einstein's enlarged brain allowed him to be smarter than the rest of the average joe.
- This is what answers the question of: what enables morality or moral feelings? It is literally the structures in the brain, not "free will."
- These parts of the brain and brain structures is what sustains homeostasis.
- Pro Tip: look at it as an experience to learn from instead of an idea to focus on.
- You will come to realize free will when you become aware of your own behavior, understand your own behavior (not just know, knowing v understanding), understand your why, understand your motivation, realize there is motivation everywhere and that is why everything is sustainable,
- Moral curiosity
- Similarly to how we will all agree that serial killer tendencies (such as spontaneous outbursts of laughter or extreme lack of empathy or no emotion when seeing innocent people getting martyred) and signs are indications of something wrong in the brain, the same thing can be said about normal behavior -> it indicates that the brain is functionally normally with normal sized amygdala and other parts and that we (mentally) use this as a sign to indicate that people are doing well and functional, implying that we are mentally controlling other people as well.
- however, normalcy is such a broad interpretation that it is a meaningless classification.
- I may not have scientific proof, but common sense tells me that: something is always controlling us; something is always limiting us. Without limitations, we would not be able to comprehend anything as something without (physical) limits wouldn't exist in this realm. Or wouldn't exist at all.
- Human beings will follow what their brain says, their brain will follow what the enviornment says. Thereby, we are controlled and limited by our enviornment.
- If the enviornment is unsustainable for the brain to operate (as known in extreme conditions), then it will be determined brain death.
- What is the cause of self-control actions?
- All actions have a motivation action beforehand. Sure, one can call it intrinsic, however, it all originates from outside from external stimuli and motivation.
- What enables this action of self-control? The prefrontal cortex, therefore, we are all limited by this particular brain piece, at least those of us that have a "functioning" prefrontal cortex.
- We confuse this when thinking because we are used to thinking in terms of intuition and common sense and only considering our life in the present and not considering the effects of our life after death.
- Similar question: What is the cause of impulse control disorder?
- This question recognizes the possibility of there being human beings that cannot comprehend the idea of moral self-control such as special needs folks.
- just because you don know why doesn't mean it's free will
- Just because you are too lazy to calculate human behavior does not make it free will
- Recognize that some things are just mentally impossible
- Such as simultaneously calculating multiple math equations at once. Even a calculator has a limit. We model the calculator based on our brain, this is how AI is being modeled.
- Those that believe in free will don't believe in mental health issues
- There are people that are still considered human beings, however, is apparent they do not have free will given their mental ailments. The presence of their existence goes against what the bible and other major religions teach about free will. Since there are literally people who cannot comprehend or even grasp the idea of free will.
- Free will is like saying there is no other explanation behind someone's decision, not even an impulse, that of which is PHYSICALLY required for all decisions.
- Everything we do is a response to external stimuli
- Think about it: without external stimuli, our bodies cannot maintain it's existence. We require a multitude of things from our enviornment to maintain our body temperature, etc.
- Similar to how we consider those who are under the influence of alcohol cannot reasonable consent, similar things can happen in our everyday life:
- Those who are under the influence of caffeine, cannot sleep on their "free will"
- Those who are under the influence of a sugar crash, cannot just "act good" or "act morally"
- Similar to those who have been force fed hardcore drugs by the cartel (ex. fent, heroin) cannot be held responsible for their actions due to their lack of ability to perform self control due to these drug influences, same thing minor changes in our everyday life, such as a change in air quality can affect our ability to perform moral self-control, it is not merely a "lack of self-control" as that only symbolizes and compares it to a goal in mind, indicating a bias as you are applying criteria, not looking at it with a curious mindset.
- This just goes to show how moral tolerance allows the leeway for bad habits to form and affect us on a minor basis that we don't even know of.
- who would have thought carrying our phone in our pockets could affect our sex life?
- sperm count and carrying phone in pocket and radiation
- By this logic, everything is comparable to drug, because everything is a drug, it just depends on the dose, even water can be lethal in higher concentrations. This is what people mean by "the dose makes the poison."
- every chemical reaction is nature's decision
- This means nature is making trillions upon trillions of decision on behalf of us and our bodies by the day, indicating that free will is not real and that are controlled by our
meat suitsbodies. - The science of social trust - sociology explains all social phenomena more than free will
- Life is something that happens to you
- if you believe there are (physical) limits to everything, then you don't believe in free will
- this includes not symbolizing everything, including human beings.
- Define consciousness and awareness and ask yourself: how does the brain work and you will further see that there are limitations as to how these things work, therefore, we have no free will.
- We are controlled by our enviornment
- Similar to how we lock our cars because we don't trust strangers
- How do we determine who is a stranger? because, at one point, even our parents were a stranger.
- Define what a "decision" even means - in pondering about what a decision even is, you will further come to realize that nothing is a decision made solely by us, because our body is dependent upon external stimuli to maintain homeostasis a pre-requisite, without this, nothing can proceed further as there wouldn't be a cause to sustain it.
- We are controlled by our enviornment
- We trust our enviornment to keep us alive. In doing so we, trust the people and objects that are in our presence to keep us alive as the default notion - assuming normal brain state of mind. You are trusting people by the second by merely being in their presence. This is why kids get shy when in the presence of others.
- There are chemical reactions every second, meaning nature is making decisions for us every second
- This is why questioning why matters - it allows us to realize our physical limitations and structure our mental limitations accordingly.
- Also, asking why isn't just to identify the cause, but rather to identify what allows the cause to take place (which requires a specific set of circumstances)
- Moreover, asking and answering the why behind the problem allows one to understand answering why is more than just identifying the cause, but rather to identify the mentality required to ace the goals.
- For example, if you understand why you need to be moral, your moral limitations and understand that it is impossible for a human being to be unconditionally moral, you are more likely to understand why being moral is reasonable for you or not. As opposed to someone who just believes "do not murder" without any sort of method of recognizing self-control apart from "free will." If you believe in moral grounding and a cause of immorality, then you do not believe in free will, rather determinism without specific goals.
- Another example, if one recognizes that their moral limitations are being in the presence of strippers as it requires much self-control to resist the temptation to be turned on or hooked onto them since you would need to put your mental guard up and actively resist them, then you know your limits.
- Similarly, if you know you are unable to be moral due to the presence of a and air quality as it would impair moral judgement, then similarly, you can avoid situations as such, if deemed reasonable and within limits.
- In the same way we recognize that is impossible for the non-intellectual able bodied person to completely resist the urgent to run when being chased by a bull why can't the same logic be applied in situations like social peer pressure?
- Decisions are being made by the millisecond because of nature. This implies, we make an endless number of decisions per day - conscious or not, controllable or not.
- Becoming aware of the decisions that are made for us by our enviornment is called studying science. Science is merely studying your enviornment.
- Nature makes countless - billions - of decisions for us on a minute (small, atomic) level - you just aren't aware of it.
- Trust is learned via experience, it is not learned via words. It cannot be intellectually taught.
- Why do we find it acceptable for mentally incapable people (mentally retarded people) to do stupid things such as slur words or drop things or drool but people who are seemingly average - nobody is average - to not to. This proves that human being is a worthless term, there is no such thing as reasonable trust.
- Being aware of the factors that you didn't know that may have influenced your decision
- Again, this is not an excuse, but a cause. Do not give cause a symbolic meaning of excuse when looking at it with a biased with for the goal of being moral (or some other goal). Stop applying the criteria of moral standards to every situations and see it from an unbiased view.
- The body makes trillions of decisions by the millisecond (for us) - that's called science.
- This is just one of the examples of how nature makes decisions for us.
- Asking the question: "What enables free will?" will lead you to realize that the brain and brain science can perfectly explain what makes people behavior they way they do, human behavior isn't any special from natures' behavior.
- Recognize factors that affect human behavior - literally everything from the weather to the type of soil we are standing on
- This does not mean that we can use that as an excuse to behavior morally badly in such situations
- There are limits of your enviornment, both mental and physical
- There are limits of self-control
- As shown by normal supposedly sane people going insane after being exposed to insane conditions such as torture.
- There is communication between our human body and the enviornment on a millisecond constant ongoing basis, this is called nonverbal communication and is just as important as verbal or symbolic communication.
- By recognizing and using concepts such as temptation, cause, self-control, personal space and enviornment, we can teach the concept of conditional morality and how to be moral in comforting and non-comforting situations.
- Don't use your lack of understanding to assume that we are all the same just because we look alike. Hell, even serial killers looked like us and they were wolf in sheep's skin. How do you know which human beings to trust?
- Calling me a human being can either humanize or dehumanize a person, a serial killer was also a human being so was the nice grandma handing out free cookies on the street
- Focus on the conditions - human beings are susceptible to harm just like other inanimate objects, the only difference is that we feel pain and they don't. That being said, we are also written on a program as well.
- By saying free will, you're effectively saying science isn't real, and there can't be explanations for how the brain works, and that is plain false. There are formulas as to how the brain works, and readings and spanking affect curiosity, creativity, intellectuality, negatively.
- There is a reason why the church is held in a chapel, not a strip club.
- More susceptible to learned helplessness and laziness without having a reason and self depreciation
- The reason why we can't exactly predict new behavior is because everyday we are experiencing never seen before variations conditions. There is a need for an experiment to be controlled, hence, the name controlled experiment.
- When we are born our default state is to trust our enviornment since we are forced to live by our involuntary organs, non-verbal communication with enviornment, body maintaining homeostasis, millions of chemical reactions happening every microsecond proving that we are forced to live by the laws of nature on a minute level, same thing as saying no one can break the laws of physics.
- maintaining homeostasis is literally continuing to exist.
- Think of thoughts as a thought process and a mental calculation
- Life usually goes very fast for a lot of people to calculate it, they all fall victim to letting their environment control them with defaulted trust.
- Define you in: "decision made by you" means
- Because, we, as human beings, as individuals never make a decision solely on our own - we do it at the help of our enviornment, decisions are complex and made our our enviornment AND us. If decisions were solely made on our own, then we would have no enviornment to sustain our decisions within. By defining who we are, we can realize that we are a part of our enviornment and act accordingly.
- Saying that we make decisions on our own completely disregards factors that affect mood, homeostasis, etc.
- Define what "you" means and decide also why you are setting arbitrary limits on what you can be defined as, why does it have to be a naked-eye visibly seen difference between skin and air? Why can't we be considered a part of the air? Why does it matter if our composition is different?
- IT IS A FACT ABOUT THE WAY YOU FEEL - literally no one can deny that (don't feel fool by those who say feelings aren't real, because that is simply not true, that is false and indeed not a fact, there is a scientific explanation for why you feel the way you feel)
- That you will become distracted to loud noises when working on intellectual calculations like calculus if you are not already desensitized to it. That is just how the brain works, it's called a specific area in the brain - Broca's area that deals with sensory processing and the hypothalamus and and prefrontal cortex that deals with intellectual calculations. Without these areas you wouldn't be able to comprehend as such. For example Phineas gage turned into a genius after literally having parts of his brain physically altered. This proves that the brain controls your thoughts, your thoughts don't control your brain.
- do animals have self control?
- Self-control =/= free will
- Do animals have a moral sense?
- Moral Perfectionism is living alone
- More proof that brain controls your thoughts not vice versa:
- savant syndrome: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_GzwxNaI_Q
- The nature of science is literally to disprove free will. This proves that free will is just used as a temporary explanation for how things work. For practical reasons, one must stop thinking and start doing.
- Everything you are doing is a part of the identifying process, we are constantly living therefore we are constantly identifying.
- We are constantly learning
- Our bodies cannot exist by itself, we depend on our enviornment to continue living, we are experiencing a cause and effect by the millisecond
- Our bodies are constantly multitasking weather or not you feel it. can you feel your body multitasking?
- Social pressure = force
- Self-control isn't a real thing, as mentioned before, we are dependent on the enviornment 24/7 to maintain homoeostasis, the enviornment must foster morality. Without a proper enviornment, one will eventually go insane, there are conditional limits to humans ability to practice morality.
- self control comes from moral support
- your body is constantly gathering information
- everything is learning there is a limit to gathering information
- For example, you know that you can only gather so much information at one time. You can only learn of one thing at one time. Try listening to 2 YouTube videos at the same time - you'll realize that you can't learn any of those contents.
- Become aware of why you do certain things (for example, forgetting thoughts due to back air quality index and being aware of how bad laundry can lead to you getting hurt in a bjj match because you didn't do laundry)
- Self-control allows us to experience new levels of social interaction
- Just because thinking about how you think (metacognition) is hard does not mean it's magical and does not have an explanation.
- everything depends on everything else homeostasis
- the body is thinking, it is thinking in the same way our bodies are being physically affected by our enviornment
- awareness of how it affects the human body sense = interoception, proprioception,
- We are not conscious, we are just aware of how things affect our senses, does not mean we can control our bodies.
- Weather or not you realize it, everything is conditional. Think about it, without environmental conditions nothing would exist, even morality depends on conditions and the ability to be comprehended.
- focus on the conditions, it literally could be the air quality index that is making someone act immorally, it should not be up to the kid to practice self-control, but rather the parents who need to practice self-control and not have a kid in such a bad enviornment.
- as a matter of fact, studying the conditions of our enviornment is called science.
- everything is conditional without conditions nothing exists, not even able to sustain morality without the presence of suitable air quality index range, etc.
- Basically without an enviornment to sustain the human body conditions the human body cannot exist and be alive, rather cease to exist.
- This is what enables morality, humans need to realize that whilst moral perfectionism is unconditional, we humans have limits to self-control, everyone has different pain tolerance limits, moreover, there are ways to objectively measure self-control
- everything is conditional and conditions describe the enviornment
- empathy is understanding situation, to understand the situations means to literally put yourself in their shoes and understand the enviornment they were in
- we are situations, situations are conditions - yes, they can be used interchangeable, we are literally a part of the enviornment, not apart from it - think of us a puzzle piece in a puzzle and how much sense it wouldn't make sense to isolate one part of it.
- Situations is to Conditions is to Event; Most people like to isolate the person from the event, when in reality, a person cannot exist without the event as the event sustains homeostasis. without the event conditions of an adequate weather conditions, no one can sustain life.
- we all depends on one another to merely exist - this is why your enviornment matters, as who you tolerate in your presence does affect who you are as a person, also, your personality changes constantly.
- When you say "I decided to do this" - define what you mean by I - who are you?
- And why is the definition of who you are stopped by what the naked eye can distinguish between skin and air? Why can't you - or your body, in this case - be a part of the air? Why does there have to be a separate word for body and air? Why can't we all be considered atoms? We are defined by who we are dependent upon our pain receptors. We cannot feel pain for others, and only pain for ourselves and only on our skin or internal organs.
- The world would be a much different place if we could feel the pain of others, literally. As if one person could feel the shot when another person is the one actually being shot at.
- [The Human] Body depends on enviornment, enviornment depends on external factors that you can't control, and the factors that you can supposably "control" depend on those factors that you can't control. Wake up and realize that you must study your conditions first - rather, be in a situation where you can study those conditions - to then reverse engineer it to get out.
- Come with the goal of understanding or criticizing and judging or applying criteria, how to learn
- Your enviornment control your limbs
- The limits of your enviornment are determined by your comprehension
- When people say you are in control of yourself - ask them to define who "you" even are?
- And why does it end with your skin?
- How much you know of history and learn from it is how your behavior
- Your body learns from history we are a result of it
- as a matter of fact free will is not a thing all is traced back to childhood and before we were born existing as cells unconsciously
- To be conscious means to be aware of the effects to an extend.
- we are not aware all of the time, it is lack of awareness that pursues curiosity.
- Telling someone to stop being depressed won't actually be effective in stopping depression because free will isn't real, it takes a series of events, it takes a certain kind of enviornment, to understand the enviornment means to understand the situation
- comprehension and awareness
- The only way we learn is from the past
- Homeostasis is real
- There is cause and effect happening on a minute level, those chemical reactions happening on a minute level is a decision for us. Therefore, there is an uncountable amount of decisions being made for us controlling us everyday and we are just not aware of it most of the time.
- Instead of just explaining how to physically do something, explain how to mentally do something. Mentally, is a whole different game, you must control environmental variables to lead yourself to a certain thought.
- What is sustaining this feeling of normality? "homeostasis"
- calmness is a feeling
- being (conditioned to be) calm in violent situations, event, experiences is not a good thing
- We must all eventually talk about the condition of one's feelings at one point simply because they do dictate how we feel towards certain (perceived as) extreme ideas such as death or (perceived as) lesser extreme ideas like theft or money laundering. As that is what dictates our attitude towards certain ideas. So, feeling do matter, all of the time.
- this is because in order to pursue an action, we require that we feel comfortable in doing so, be it comfortable in being in uncomfortable situations, using the power of psychology, neuroscience and computer programming to explain it.
- silence is violence
- This is because if you have been tortured for a good amount of time, you are conditioned to take the pain instead of reacting to it.
- Your brain is constantly applying criteria in the background
- understand how the present controls the enviornment to then control the brain
- When you understand about why people think the way they do and recognize flaws, you will come to realize that it is all in the enviornment making you do what you do. Therefore a smart person sets up a system where the enviornment fosters learning, such as bright neutral colors, etc.
- Assuming that you're being tempted, ask yourself: what is the purpose of experiencing this experience if it's tempting you, why not just avoid the tempting experience? This makes you think more about what your purpose in life is
- Basically asking: comprehend "why you are experiencing this?"
- I wish I was taught this earlier to question why I was feeling the way I was feeling.
- People are able to be civil towards each other given the basis of common features, such as common morals shared.
- By saying: "it's up to you to decide, you're disregarding acknowledging how the enviornment maintains homeostasis and influences our decisions" We, as human beings with bodies, cannot sustain life without external variables such as air quality , etc. It takes a measured amount of self-control to sustain this life.
- human beings are not special think of us as an intimate object - such as a rock. We are just a rock that is aware of our actions, but not too aware to the point we can constantly determine what the cause of our actions are, but not completely unaware as this level of unawareness is what motivates us and our limbs in our daily life - we all have a sense of curiously. Think of your limbs as a separate part of your with it's brain depending on the enviornment.
- Since you trust your enviornment, the enviornment is controlling your limbs because trust means to give up control
- in order for anything to occur in this world it must first be enabled by physical laws, to study this physical laws is called metacognition
- program your subconscious mind and surroundings by understanding your enviornment mentally affects you
- how human beings work mentally in terms of feelings; calmness is a feeling
- Define the limits of consciousness
- If there is a definition for it, there is a limitation for it, if there is a limit for it, there is no such thing as free will
- everything has to do with learning from history. Everything we know is from history, if we don't learn from it, we ae doomed to repeat it.
- This is why if you are aware of how enviornment programs behavior, you'll be fine.
- learning from past experiences IS the definition of learning from history
- Consciousness is being aware of what the body is learning and learning from history is the only way to learn
- To those who believe in free will, no one can define consciousness
- Your enviornment controls who you aware - obvious examples:
- Why do you think the enviornment of casinos don't have windows?
- Why do you think the insides of houses are painted with a rather neutral color as opposed to red, green, blue, bright yellow, etc.?
- Every single thing, action you take, mental actions you take can be traced back to historical understanding
- everything is a limit to desire including thinking which is identifying, it takes time and energy to think and thinking about the time an emery it takes to produce a thought is called meta cognition
- everything depends on some uncontrollable factor by you
- To sympathize means to comprehend environment influences, not just the person, but the enviornment of the person as the enviornment makes the person, the person is like any other intimate object maintaining homeostasis. In the same way a rock cannot magically get shattered by free will of the rock, same thing for human beings - we are not anything special.
- we are all controlled since we are forced to do good
- All of our feelings are developed via childhood under the conditioned idea that humans are worthy - think about it, when have you ever thought about a human being as a vile piece of filth, when have you ever though about a group of people as a disease? I think of conservatism as a mental disease
- Think of the brain as a thought-generator, and like brains, computers have code, that is the code that scientists, more specifically neuroscientists are trying to identify
- research more on the nature v nurture debate
- blame genetics
- without incomming stimulation nothing is possible
- No one is really independent, we all depend on each other and most of all environmental conditions (called nature) such as the air we breathe constantly due to the laws of physics.
- If you interpret your surroundings scientifically, the presence happens because of the past
- Everything you know of comes from the past, technically - even if it is only 1 or 2 seconds away from the present, it's still considered the past and "history."
- This is why some people might say: "stop being stuck up on the past" even though that is literally not how we human beings learn at all - we learn from reflecting upon the past events, that is the only way to learn.
- what makes someone want something?
- What controls desire in our brain?
- We all know that without a dopamine reward system no one would feel happy and therefore suicide rates would increase proving that we are controlled by our enviornment, once you realize this its up to you to decide how to program your enviornment to make it better.
- What makes someone want something?
- It takes a certain kind of enviornment to raise a person to want to become a serial killer or murderer (see: nature (genetics) vs nurture post)
- Because of the past - the present is only possible because of the past
- Think of people as environments like a rock exists in certain environments - some environments are too hot/cold to sustain a life of a rock, similar to human beings some environments are simply too cold or hot to sustain human life - Don't isolate the person from the enviornment, think of the person as a part of their enviornment because that is true, we are a part of the enviornment not apart from it.
- We only exist because of constant incoming stimuli
- Learning about the learning/comprehension process (metacognition) will help you realize that everything happening in your head is a mental calculation
- empathy is understanding situation to understand the thought proses behind the situations, which is literally the definition of psychology; psychology is the study of behavior and mental processes
- Living is learning and we must master the art of learning how to learn
- Free will is a term used by people who simply don't understand how human desire works or develops
- Desire to sustain and maintain homeostasis are controlled by environmental homeostasis conditions
- There are multiple natural processes happening in the background that you don't know about.
- These desires are developed through the help of natural processes
- This is why "deciding what you want" takes much effort. Also, the desires to pursue something is developed by our past, in other words our conscious past including our childhood and our unconscious past including the time we spent as an egg cell in mom's body.
- Malicious (ex. premeditated murder) desires do not develop like magic, we are not born wanting to kill someone unless we have abnormal brain changes.
- define variables depend on, we depend on many variables like air quality index, quality of food ingested, etc. these things all control our thoughts and mood and enable us to live
- maintaining homeostasis can either mean maintain status quo or changing the system
- All words are adjectives since all words describe, this means all words are measurements of some sort of variable using a scale
- For example, imagination is a noun describing ( measuring) the level of ideas
- Situation depends on
- Think of programming conditions in everyday life. For example, if person comes at me with an axe then I run is an example of a conditional if then command
- By studying the brain I can model the human brain conditions thought process using computer science, which is why I want to study this field.
- Just because no human being is in direct control does not mean there is no control happening at all, just means there is no formally recognized authority present.
- The secret to understanding that there is no free will is to understand one's own behavior
- If free will was real why is it that we can't do two things at once like ride a rollercoaster and sleep and drink a milkshake at the same time, this proves there are limitations to our physical and mental actions (ex. we can't develop certain thoughts in a certain enviornment, this is why we like to study in relatively quiet environments and party and relatively loud environments); This proves our desires are limited and able to defined and conditioned.
- think in terms of experiences and events, not solely ideas
- explain your desire and you will realize that it's not free will, why you want to do what you want to do.
- By the brain merely existing in this realm, it implies it has limits implying that free will has a limit, meaning it's not free, will therefore be determined, and able to be calculated
- The level of practical trust proves that free will isn't real
- Free will inevitably says science isn't real specifically about the brain based on what observable conformable evidence. It's also possible to be unaware.
- The present exists because of the past
- The fact that there are limitations to our desires and feelings and moods disproves free will
- don't isolate the person from the enviornment, you must understand the conditions needed to sustain life, sustaining homeostasis
- Instead of making an attempt to understand one's desire to sustain living life in certain conditions, free will is often used by human beings who lack the comprehension of empathy, which is understanding in and of itself.
- Desire is complex, as a matter of fact, everything we do is our desire. Even robbing a place is our desire when certain conditions are met - such as a robber threatening to kill family if you don't perform a bank robbery.
- Likewise, we are all forced to stay alive.
- We are all subconsciously forced to do good by the values that we learned in our childhood enabled by brain conditioning
- maintaining homeostasis includes mentality and it is not free will
- it takes specific conditions in order to sustain life
- lots of factors go into decision-making
- measuring compared to what
- desire to continue living
- we are constantly subconsciously being controlled - this is called the body "maintaining homeostasis"
- learning about the learning process, it takes awareness to do certain things
- Following morality is a form of mentally using our surroundings as motivation and meaning to continue living as our subconsciously mind identifies others as special, which innately takes effort on our part creating a feeling that is rather hesitant to pursuing death.
- Denying free will is the same thing as denying the presence of the body maintaining homeostasis, denying the limits of mental focusing.
- everything is a feeling including calmness - it's called maintaining homeostasis
- behavior is desire to continue living is called maintaining homeostasis
- Education as the best crime prevention
- understanding desire to survive maintain homeostasis
- If you have to spank someone to "teach them" then they are simply too young to learn to understand
- If you can't teach someone a formal way of thought process of thinking about it, then you simply don't understand it yourself.
- spanking someone subconsciously forces them to do avoid it for the rest of their lives especially if done during childhood.
- Instead of spanking them, teach them to set goals and about the learning how to learn process
- understand your behavior by becoming aware of the process of becomming aware - thinking process called: metacognition
- learning logic of getting hit to learn something doesn't make sense academically
- to prevent "malicious" desire, preoccupy kid with some other goal to distract them from malicious desires.
- The thought process behind comprehending spanking as a good thing simply does not make sense in terms of how human behavior works
- To spank means to change the perspective a child has towards something, instead of being curious most parents want them to suppress this at certain times, however, too much suppression can lead to lack of curiosity and critical thinking skills.
- To understanding complex desired behavior is called having empathy. It is a skill most conservatives simply cannot comprehend because they cannot comprehend their own behavior.
- cause of feelings thoughts
- The decision process for a particular decision is influenced by the entirety of your past and what you are aware of.
- The answer to why is a complex reason
- Understanding why is a niche and esoteric practice, it takes a certain type of individual to pursue it, similar to comprehending certain types of humor
- Everything is a perspective, everything is a mood, everything is an opinion
- We can measure opinions based on the level of symbolism
- Many standards are developed by measuring compared to feelings
- The development of feelings aren't magic.
- When you come to the conclusion that all humans are valuable, I must ask: What enables (makes, causes) humans to be "valuable?"
- people who lack empathy capacity are those who blame free will rather than sitting down and listening with the goal of understanding rather than the goal of responding
- studying motivation for the universe to continue existing
- Simply think of the information gained in terms of experiences and information we sense and how we learn from experiences
- Teaching has to do with modifying experiences, if you don't know how to modify experiences to make someone reach a certain conclusion, such as teaching 1+1 = 2 effectively, then you are simply doing it wrongly and cannot sympathize with people as a skill.
- Formal teaching is quite literally about controlling experiences.
- everything you do describes your thought process of opinions, we just don't treat it like it
- For example, when you say: "I had a wet dream" - "wet dream" describes the type of thought process you had.
- treating a person that supports pedophilias is not equivalent to saying censorship for "having a different opinion," some opinions are just unacceptable in the pubic sphere no matter the context
- how the social system works can be change
- As a scientist, when you are attempting to understanding the complex reason why - also known as "motivation" for sustaining life or pursuing another goal, you are indirectly understanding the reason the universe sustains' as-is.
- The only way to get better is to understand your level of adaptive, conditioning and control what you experience from there. In the same way we avoid bad experiences, we must chase the good ones too.
- You must develop heathy ways to convince yourself to pursue certain goals, this is why spanking teaches a wrong lesson using the wrong logic and rather promotes intellectual laziness and lack of understanding which can lead to jealousy and other rather negative feelings to sustain.
- We are constantly responding to stimuli, we just don't realize it because we are conditioned not to respond to it consciously and to sustain rather boredom over time.
- any form of recognizing thinking pattern is proving free will isn't real
- as soon as you start recognizing basic cause and effect like a 5 year old does, you, therefore become a liberal learner.
- To understand why means to understand the past - because why always is a cause that is located in the past.
- To those who insist on free will ask them about addiction and how the brain of an addicted person and the brain of a person addicted to pork are the same MRI image scan and how the brain enables this behavior and how Einstein's brain is physically different than normal people's. Basically they only believe in free will because their brain allows them to thereby disproving free will simply by believing in it or any action they take
- Does it make sense to expose a kid to violence and expect them not to be violent? No. That is not how human beings work, don't let anyone manipulate into thinking as otherwise.
- It does not make sense for a person to say "don't get tempted" or "don't act on temptation feelings" and bring them to a sweets shop on their birthday that will cause mental temptation.
- Diet can affect and control subconscious physical and mental behavior,
- For example, a high quality diet can improve mental focus and clarity and therefore able to perform better on standardized tests, however, those who eat a diet of processed non-whole multiple-ingredient foods and seed oils do not.
- The cause if the problem IS THE PROBLEM
- Not the "lack of self-control" or rather "the need for it" - do not assign responsibility, as that is a completely different goal apart from the goal of understanding. The goal of assigning responsibility is done with the intention of who knows what. Point is, that goal being pursued isn't going to actually identify the (root) cause of the problem and not able to effectively solve it. It's like using a band-aid to cover a wound that you keep re-opening.
- Similar to "don't pot yourself in a compromising situation" - "learn to avoid difficult situations with minimal exposure or effort."
- Science is about being completely aware of the present.
- Sustained feelings is maintaining homeostasis
- The initial feeling for everything is trust, without it, nothing else is possible.
- There is more than one cause and one effect every second
- There is no such thing as one cause, the cause, or the "why" is more complicated than merely one cause, rather multiple causes in one.
- Feelings are real, because feelings existing over time is the reason why pursue living - if feelings didn't matter, ask those with depression or those that are schizophrenic - no one does anything without feelings, as conditions of feelings always matter when we are setting and pursuing goals.
- Look at the brain scan of a depressed person and a cocaine addict and a porn addict, these things literally change the wiring of the brain - don't say free will is real just because you seem "normal" you are just used to a state of homeostasis.
- lack of understanding as motivation is curiosity
- If you want to change your life, you must understand what is making you sustain your current lifestyle.
- all ideas thought up actually tell you how to live your life. For example, if you believe your purpose in life is you pursue intrinsically-derived curiosity, then that is the kind of experiences you should pursue.
- Understand that: thoughts are the result of experiences, so, if you want to change thoughts, change your experiences.
- think of thoughts sourced from experiences
- Once you see it like this, you will want to pursue experiences over anything else based on how you understand the system works
- Being a "good" person is not necessarily a good thing
- "Change human nature"
- Learning from past experiences is literally learning from history
- There is a difference between present conditioning and lack of conditioning
- Allow thoughts to develop
- desire to sustain and experience
- Desire is always connected to experiences, it's like human beings and air, without air to sustain homeostasis, we cannot live
- Yes, air quality index affects thoughts as it is a part of homeostasis.
- When you learn about the process of learning, you'll understand that free will isn't real
- learning about learning is literally called science and metacognition
- some things are guaranteed to change p people's minds - knowing this, you can manipulate this to how people work, ask any sales person, they can tell you how they change a persons' surroundings and level of trust to gain attention
- saying it is a lack of responsibility is like saying sunlight is a lack of darkness, like that does not help us id the physical cause of this behavior
- Since we already covered the fact that the way human beings work is basically by setting and pursuing goals
- we must realize that always has a goal, it is sustaining life (usually)
- If we did not have a goal, in other words, if you describe yourself as doing nothing, you are simply unaware of what your goal is at the moment
- Children have the objective goal of pursuing education and curiosity and is it up to the parents to foster that love for learning
- cause of comforting environment
- fine tine enviornment to lead yourself to think certain thoughts, for example, you know that you can think intellectual level thought if you are in a library alone
- If someone says you can control your feelings, as them to define what control even means and what your sense of control depends on anatomically, physiologically, physically, psychologically, neuroscientific ally, etc.
- Since everything is learning - living is learning - those who believe in free will simply don't know how to make a learning curriculum because they believe it to be "magic."
- There are defined mental processes involved in acquiring knowledge
- Those who believe in free will define fact as an opinion and opinion as a fact, they simply don't understand what the definition of a fact is.
- The level of thinking one performs can be viewed as objective or opinionated
- We measure level of opinion based on level of emotional conditioning involved (when a kid see's something shiny they want to explore it, when an adult sees something shiny, they are "mature" or rather conditioned enough not to explore it, but rather avoid it)
- There is an objective way to measure opinion, instead of having an opinion on someone else's opinion
- when you understand you won't care about it anymore
- Everything depends on feelings
- This is proven true because if one can't feel comfortable and rather is always in a state of alert-ness and craziness like psychiatric patients, this proves that everything depends on specific level of comfortability - this proves that specific adjectives for feelings matter. Increase your vocabulary, increase your awareness.
- There is cause and effect every second, millions of causes and effects every second - why do you think there are 3 branches of science - Biology, Chemistry, Physics
- Claiming free will is like saying experiences are not connected to one another
- When in reality, this is physically impossible, our brains work just anything else. Reasonable feelings exist unreasonable feelings don't, only those who don't understand the creation of feelings and what feeling one should have in a certain situation -> for example, one should feel sacred if they are being chased at with a knife with the underlying variable being survival being threatened.
- Ben Carson explaining how the brain works
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucExu334i6Q
- Just shows how complex the brain is.
- There are objectives ways to measure opinion, that is called level of adapting
- This is more clear with torture and desensitization. For example, when being tortured one might become more desensitized to pain and violence.
- Everything - every word - identifies a situation
- For example, when you mention "baby" that baby has to exist within an enviornment maintaining homeostasis - dead or alive. Also baby refers to emphasizing specific characteristics of a particular organism
- it takes effort to identify thoughts and ideas based on a mental goal of generating thoughts - not just randomly thought generating
- For example, when generating thoughts for what can make a better infrastructure, you are not going to think about what is the best tasting donut and suggest we build roads in a circular shape - this is not free will or magical ideas, identifying ideas takes effort, that can be calculated, no matter how small or big.
- All words describe theoritical situations, in other words, when you say cat, that implies a cat exists in a situation with air quality, food schedule, etc. as without these things a cat cannot be alive or even be (exist) without maintaining homoeostasis.
- factors in choice, free will isn't real if you acknowledge that there are things that affect the decision making process mentally
- Those who blame it on choice and free will sound like that manipulative businesses that cause you to breakdown and blame it on you for not adapting to changing your goals enough, when in reality boundaries have been crossed
- What if I claim God made me do it - is that a valid excuse?
- Those who agree on the conclusion of free will don't recognize the following
- There are limits to human thinking - there is a reason why we can't perform calculations as fast as a calculator
- Most of them are conditioned to set the goal of maintaining homeostasis in a relatively calm enviornment by their childhood conditioning.
- This is why goal-setting is important
- This is why in-curiosity is a not a good thing, unfortunately with freedom leads to people developing as such.
- If you can teach someone, you should be able to teach someone the mental thought process behind it, as everything is learned and is an instinct, if you cannot, then it is just a conditioned feeling and nothing special.
- If you can't teach using words and the thought process , then you simply don't understand it enough to be able to teach it to someone else.
- If you can't convey your goals in identifying or setting goals, then you don't understand it yourself.
- Proving that thinking is process of identifying:
- recognize thinking process identifying process takes time what if you had to go thru a series of challenges to identify something that is called detective work.
- For example, before you got to a box with the code, you had to find the key to open it before identifying the code in the presence tense - this is called using past experiences to identify another experience.
- by claiming free will is real you are devaluing the torture those who have been tortured went thru, there are real objective measurable mental effects of being tortured
- Everyone can agree that environmental exposure to certain things is non negotiable like car fumes in a toddlers bed
- Similarly seeing new things and constantly suppressing impulses is not a good thing as it is just means you are identifying those new things as obstacles.
- mental health = mentally effect = perspective change, goal change, evaluation change
- There are limits to how it affects our senses
- The way we think is objectively describable - those who say as otherwise as psychologically illiterate and are unaware of the concepts of trust, cooperation, focus on goal, etc.
- The way we feel is objectively describable - we just don't have the vocabulary for it yet
- how we set and pursue goals is decided in childhood
- For example, we learn trust in childhood this is why we are conditioned to stay calm in public as being in public reminds us of our parents' comfort and trust we built - that is no to say trust can't be broken as a background task, however, it is a prerequisite for any sort of cooperation. This is why trust and cooperation are my values.
- This is also an explanation of the limits of our physical and mental sense
- factors that affect decision making car sales will show you that free will isn't real and what you'd decisions are based on what factors
- You may think car features are the only deciding factors, however, what if the car salesmen decides to take 4 grand off of MSRP of a car that has lesser of the asked features that you're looking for making it way under budget to save money? this may have to reevaluating goal.
- identify the facts first, then decide on goal to set and pursue
- Before we define who has "control" - not just in a legal sense, but in a natural sense in the way that we are a part of our environment. We must first define who "you" and "I' are? Are you your brain or your body?
- Define free will
- Previous effects of past influence/affect/control/play a role in/part of the equation of our current decision: https://www.caltech.edu/about/news/new-insights-into-the-neuroscience-behind-conscious-awareness-of-choice
- if you contorl your brain, what controls you - what is "you" (is it your brain, is it your senses, is it your body, what is your body, why does it stop at the layer of skin used to senses the outside world?)
- Free will is a word used by those who lack empathy
- Logic of learning about free will proves that there is no defined method of learning or thinking - constant state of confusion - which is the definition of religion - a state of unawareness and focus on ideas called morality
- studying the religious train of thought instead of taking it personally.
- why trust
- the reason why you trust a source - someone or something - was because it was proven reliant in the past for the goal of survival and it tended to your BASIC physiological needs. This is the real reason why you trust your parents, is because you literally had no other choice when you were a child.
- Ask yourself: how does it affect your senses, both physically and how you mentally categorize it for what goal?
- don't stop thinking, as once you stop thinking, you stop learning how to learn and once you stop learning how to learn you stop optimizing your lifestyle.
- Free will excuse is used by people to not understand people and manipulate feelings, because they use their lack of understanding to of human nature to change thoughts
- The real reason is you are only here for the food - look at it this way, if the army had you got to San Antonio for training but the food for breakfast lunch and dinner was all the way back in Little Rock Arkansas, would you even bother doing the training? The body prioritizes survival.
- everything is health
- There is a formula behind how human beings work which is what I was to identify via social variables - I want to sympathize to the most extent as possible to then formulate my own goals and pursue them given the opportunity.
- By thinking like a game developer, you will understand how all possibile desires are develpoed and identified, moreover, this is also why game developers hire bug testers and people to test the gameplay to identify any more possible errors or exploits.
- In other words, there are certain limitations to a game that make it reasonable; For example, there is a reason why making money in games requires effort as it one were able to hack it, there would be no point in working, similar, in real life, if a billionare were just to give you 1 billion dollars, that means you wouldn't care to work anymore, for obvious reasons.
- Certain professions like computer programmers require you to not believe in free will in order to pursue given the intellectual demanding nature of some jobs, mainly college educated ones.
- Biologically everything is physically conditional, yes, even love (physical possibilties categories) has it's conditions.
- Free will is completely negates the decision making process of the body and it's physiological processes and the brain
- Free will completely negates the observation of the judgement and evaluation and conclusion process - in other words, the thinking proces.
- Common sense tells me that people are not willing to travel 1500 miles just to try a new cake that just came out. However, people are willing to travel 1500 miles if it is to see their loved ones.
- Free will is like saying an addicted person can simply "just quit" when in reality any addiction - good or bad - rewires the brain, so you must learn to be addiceted to the right things and rewire your brain - this notion of goodness has some general guidelines, but objectively we all know the best objective lifestyle is the gymanstics lifestyle as is masters all motor skills and teaches a person how to learn.
What this means for "responsibility"
Now just because free will isn't real does not delegate our responsibilities, as a matter of fact it make it more our responsibility to understand the cause and improve knowledge based upon it.
Given the fact that we now understand - not merely just know (to be aware of the existence of something), but understand (there is a difference) - the presence of how our environment affects our behaviors, it should invoke a feeling of ambition to chance, this is our feelings work, and in turn how our brain works.
responsibility is just blame and blame is placed on someone likely who can change, can't blame the air even though it made you lose because you can't change the air conditions necessarily
Responsibility is another euphemism for blame, decision choice is indirectly assigning responsibility to this entity for one of two reasons: because that is the only thing that has the ability to change and also because that is who society can place blame upon and dump their feelings into
When you start to question authority you will realize that the conservative mindset will not get you anywhere but the middle class.
If free will were "real" then anything goes and no boundaries can be reasonably set, because nothing can be considered as "abuse" because anyone can simply claim to the victim "you decided to continue being abused out of your own free will" -> it's like telling a raped person: "you chose to let them have sex with you" when in reality, "letting them" encompasses involuntary contact as well, thereby making it forced contact, thereby needing a definition for "forced - both directly and indirectly"
What people don't understand about addiction
With free will being disproven, this changes how we see addiction on a daily basis. Most people are emotionally unaware of their feelings on a day to day basis, mainly because they don't care to put enough time into reflecting on the cause of their thoughts, rather put more effort into "doing" rather than "thinking" or what I like to call "identifying thoughts or mental limits". I like to say "where dogma starts, thinking stops, and doing starts."
Cause of feelings
The average person underestimates the influence of the enviornment on one's one behavior. By understanding your own behavior you become a part of the universes becomming aware of itself. Don't deny neuroscience.
We don't know how the brain works of it's entirety, so people will make up theories like free will to act as a placeholder to fill that void in the meantime.
Free will is used by people who simply don't want to spend the time to understand others, but simply just assign responsibility and call it a day simply because they "look human being."
Keep asking why, where the unquestionable dogma starts that is where this notion of "free will" begins
Why you should feel okay about people not understanding that free will does not exist:
- Not all human beings have a developed enough brain to comprehend complex concepts disproving free will with a few questions of freethought
- Don't assume everyone is smart because they are human
- This is a short coming of assumption and of common morality, we assume that certain creatures are human beings based on looks and because of those looks they must be yay smart, which isn't always true.
Why people don't want to admit that free will does not exist:
- They think it takes away responsibility
- These people don't want to observe behavior rather judge behavior, they want to apply a set of criteria for some goal of theirs, usually to apply responsibility to blame fault. Because responsibility and blaming fault are the same exact thing, just a euphemism for each other.
- It takes stupidity to comprehend free will
- Everything depends on the goals our environment and situation set for us. We are constantly setting the goal of pursuing living life.
- Once you focus on the past and actually reflect upon it, your desires will change and won't want to sustain that moral social life - you will turn into an observant intellectual, like me.
- Slave masters didn't want their slaves to recognize that free will does not exist and that their circumstances did dicate their actions, by keeping them unaware of this, you are effectively able to place blame on the person themselves as opposed to them wanting to change and improve their enviornment. This is why I beleive not believing in free will is a mental prerequisite to pussuing improvement on anything intellectual as it recognizes the need for circumstancial improvement for human behavior. This is why I believe getting the basics right in education is important and religion is defintiely not one of them.
- Saying free will is just saying "it's not "my" repsonsibility to analyze what they're thinking, jus to respect their presence - tolerate their presence - in my experience."
Misc. Observations:
- Those that often claim free will believe it's magical to develop emotional attachment to people, including minors, indirectly proving that religion sets no boundaries on sexual development, explaining why pastors are attracted to minors.
- Free will is often used an an excuse by those who fail to see the complex reasoning behind human behavior and instead want to inject sanctity of human life to their misappropriation of reasoning.

- Controlled by ideas
